Fire at DeVos living center

Two suite-style apartments at Grand Valley State University’s DeVos Living Center caught fire around 6:30 a.m. July 20. The rooms were unoccupied when the fire took place and fire crews cleared the area about an hour and a half later. The minor fire caused some smoke damage to the apartments. Though the exact cause of the blaze is still unknown, the most likely source appears to be a fan that overheated after being left on, according to university administrators.
