Conference to discuss masculinity, anti-violence work

Grand Valley State University will host the Men in Action conference to challenge male gender norms and learn about the culture of masculinity and manhood. The conference is organized by the Men in Action subcommittee of the Campus Violence Prevention Team at GVSU. The conference will be held in conjunction with national Domestic Violence awareness Month and is a component of the men’s initiative through the Department of Justice. The MIA also will be hosting seminars throughout the fall semester. The event will be free for students, faculty and staff members, and will be $25 for community members. It runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 11 in the Kirkhof Center. For more information, visit www.gvsu.edu/women_cen.
