Arthur Hills dies, played crucial role in GVSU community

Arthur Hills, a former pioneer professor and administrator at Grand Valley State University, died March 31 in Grand Rapids. Hills was a music instructor, and he was also GVSU’s first fine arts professor, an academic adviser and secretary of the Board of Trustees. The Arthur C. Hills Living Center on the Allendale Campus is named after him, in addition to the Arthur C. Hills Music Scholarship and the Art Hills Spirit Award.
