The top-searched Halloween topic on Google is “costumes,” but many college students lack the funds to purchase fully-made get-ups from Halloween superstores. So what’s a Grand Valley State University student to do at the last minute, sans funds and time?

Stereotypical tourist

Borrow a cheesy Hawaiian-print shirt from your dad and carry around a camera (necessary on Halloween anyway) and large maps from the dollar store. Add a big hat and sunglasses if you have them, or just bring a towel in a duffel bag.

Nudist on strike

Use the free printing on campus to type up a sign to hang around your neck, and then sport it with any outfit you like. Take advantage of your costume choice to actually dress for the weather, and make fun of your friends in their skin-baring costumes.

Baby

Wear your pajamas and pick up a cheap pacifier from the store on your way home from class. Super easy.

Email your Halloween photos to [email protected] and we will include some of our favorite costumes in an online slideshow.
