For the first time, Grand Valley State University will host the Alliance for Nonprofit Management 2012 Annual Conference in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

“We are very proud to host the conference for the first time in Grand Rapids,” said Senior Program Advisor Terry Horton. “Last year, it was hosted in San Francisco and it is usually on the West or East coasts.”

The event will be held at the JW Marriott located in downtown Grand Rapids from August 8-10 with the annual board meeting at GVSU and the conference will host guest speakers from non-profit organizations including CampassPoint Nonprofit services, the Midwest Center for Nonprofit Leadership, and La Piana Consulting.

“We are expecting about 150 people at the conference with the target audience being consultants and other capacity builders who are involved in non-profit organizations,” Horton said. “We felt that a national conference like this would benefit the Johnson Center and showcase Grand Rapids and Michigan.”

For those interested in attending the conference, registration is on August 8 and 9 at the JW Marriott and will cost $395.
