Dave Landau at Dr. Grins

Dr. Grins Comedy Club at The B.O.B. will host comedian Dave Landau for three nights straight starting tonight at 9 p.m. Known as one of the top 21 club comics in today’s comedy scene, this Detroit-native has made an appearance on Comedy Central’s “Live At Gotham” as well as being featured on two consecutive seasons of NBC’s “Last Comic Standing.” His comedy show will be featured at Dr. Grins through Jan. 10, with ticket prices ranging from $5 for tonight’s show to $15 by the end of the weekend. Hough Plays Dvorak

The Grand Rapids Symphony will welcome Stephen Hough, one of the world’s greatest pianists, to its stage on Friday and Saturday. Hough is a Naumburg and MacArthur Foundation grant winner who will play alongside Joshua Weilerstein, a young rising sought-after conductor. The show will take place at 8 p.m. at the DeVos Performance Hall on both nights. Tickets start at $18, or $5 for full-time students. Real Pirates: The Untold Story of the Whydah from Slave Ship to Pirate Ship

Real Pirates tells the true story of a pirate ship named Whydah that sank off the coast of Cape Cod nearly 300 years ago. The exhibition is now open to the public and hosted at the Grand Rapids Public Museum where visitors can catch a glimpse of life aboard the ship. Treasure chests filled with authentic coins from all over the world, pirate dress items, objects used aboard the ship, jewelry and historic weaponry are among the select features that will be on display for visitors. Wheatland Music Festival

Break out of those winter blues and head to The Intersection! The Wheatland Music Organization will be presenting the sixth annual Winter Wheat concert, a celebration of traditional music and dance that will feature 13 different musical acts. Such acts include Billy Strings & Don Julin, Fauxgrass, The Red Sea Pedestrians, An Dro, Blue Water Ramblers and more. The event is an annual fundraiser to support the Wheatland Music Organization and will take place on Saturday, Jan. 10 from 12:30 p.m. to midnight.
