GVL Staff

GVSU student Xinyi Ou has been given a scholarship from the Point Foundation. The Foundation helps students by giving financial support and training to students who have been slowed because of sexual orientation or gender identity. Ou, who came to the United States from Beijing at the age of nine, was one of 2,000 applicants who applied for the scholarship. Ou is pursuing a double major in history and sociology at GVSU and will join students from Harvard, Columbia, Stanford, and Dartmouth to receive the scholarship.
