LGBT Center to host a gender recognition event

On Sept. 25, the LGBT Resource Center will be hosting an event that helps individuals gain more knowledge in exploring and identifying gender to others. Laurel Westbrook, an assistant professor of sociology, will be the host of the event titled, “Who are you: Gendering Public and Private Spaces.” Westbrook will elaborate on specific examples from both transgender right bills and transgender athletes. This event will be an educational experience and will be held at 4 p.m. in room 2204 in the Kirkhof Center.
