Faculty, staff challenge for healthy living

The Grand Valley State University’s Health and Wellness department introduces the Fruit and Vegetable Challenge – a four-week effort to help faculty and staff members become healthier by encouraging fruits and vegetables in their diet.

The program’s goal is to meet the daily serving guidelines recommended by the American Cancer Society, which outlines that women should have two cups of fruit and two and one-half cups of vegetables daily while men should consume two cups of fruit and three cups of vegetables daily.

Registration for the four-week challenge has already begun online at www.gvsu.edu/healthwellness and the first 35 people to register will receive a free gym bag. Drawings for free lunches as well as other prizes will also continue through out the challenge, which begins June 8 and lasts through July 5.
