​Lakers, Bulldogs set for first-place bout

After an impressive weekend against Northern Michigan University and Michigan Technological University, the Grand Valley State University volleyball team readies for a significant showdown at No. 22 Ferris State University on Tuesday.

The No. 13 Lakers (17-3, 13-0 GLIAC) stand alone atop the GLIAC standings, but the Bulldogs (15-5, 12-1 GLIAC) are nipping at their heels. Ferris State, which is 6-0 at the Ewigleben Sports Arena in 2014, also defeated Northern Michigan and Michigan Tech with consecutive sweeps over the weekend.
