Awkward holiday photobooth

Ring in the holidays with the Grand Valley State University Office of Student Life. The organization will be hosting a photo opportunity Dec. 5-7 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Kirkhof Center.

Bring a group of friends and sift through the various festive props and outfits provided by the Office of Student Life to feature in photos.

Dealing with difficult people

The human resources department at Grand Valley State University invites “People Stuff” consultant at Edgeline Resources LLC Dave Vermilye to campus to present cordial, professional ways to handle difficult people the workplace.

The lecture will be held Tuesday, Dec. 6 from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. in Kirkhof Center Room 2270.

Participants be actively engaged in a conversation that will teach them about difficult workplace roles, ways to handle these individuals and ways to avoid becoming a difficult person in the workplace.

Swing dance: Fancy pants holiday dance

Get in the holiday spirit and join the Grand Valley State University Swing Dance Club Thursday, Dec. 8 in the Kirkhof Center at 9 p.m. for a night of swing dancing.

There is no formal dress code, but participants are advised to wear something they are able to move freely in. Prior swing dance experience is not required to attend this free event.

There will be light refreshments provided for all guests.

Let’s get crafty

Grand Valley State University’s Spotlight Productions will be hosting a holiday celebration event, “Let’s Get Crafty,” Thursday, Dec. 8 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the Kirkhof Center.

Join in on this free event to create original holiday ornaments or greeting cards to distribute to family and friends.
