Baltes named National Coach of the Year

After leading the Grand Valley State University women’s cross-country team to its second national title in three seasons, head coach Jerry Baltes was named the National Women’s Cross Country Coach of the Year by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
This is the second USTFCCCA Women’s Cross Country Coach of the Year honor for Baltes in his 14-year tenure at GVSU. In that time, Baltes has captured 12-straight GLIAC regular season titles, as well as leading the men’s and women’s teams to top-ten finishes at the NCAA Cross-Country Championships over the last five seasons.
