President Thomas J. Haas recently read children’s stories and discussed the significance of education to second graders at the Harrison Park Elementary School in Grand Rapids on Oct. 18. This visit was in association with the Challenge Scholars Adopt-a-Month program. During the month of October, Grand Valley State University will be sponsoring campus visits and events that inform and enlighten people about the opportunities with getting a college education. GVSU is a part of the Grand Rapids Community Foundation’s Challenge Scholars, which is a program made by the Grand Rapids Community Foundation to help assist students in attending college.
