With the offseason upon all GVSU athletic teams this summer, the coaching ranks are shifting, albeit in a minor way for three teams.
The swimming teams have added Justin Vasquez to the staff as an assistant coach for both the men’s and women’s teams. Vasquez comes to GVSU after stint as an assistant coach at Calvin College.
Men’s basketball coach Ric Wesley welcomed a new assistant to the staff in Nate Babcock. Babcock will serve as a full-time assistant for GVSU after serving as a special assistant coach at Michigan State University under coach Tom Izzo.
Finally, women’s soccer coach Dave DiIanni has brought on a new coach to help out with the goalkeepers this season in Shaylin Mannino. Mannino, who graduated and played at Central Michigan University, comes to GVSU after a year coaching at Alma College.
