The Grand Valley State University community will be presented with a rare opportunity today when three current and former university presidents visit campus for a book signing. President Thomas Haas, former President Mark Murray and President Emeritus Arend D. Lubbers will all sign copies of GVSU’s 50th anniversary commemorative book, “Grand Valley Celebrates 50 Years of Shaping Lives,” today from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Thornapple Room of the Kirkhof Center.

The book, which retails at $19.95, features more than 160 pages of photos, stories and memories from throughout GVSU’s history. It is regularly available for purchase from the University Book Store.

Chair of the 50th anniversary steering committee and special assistant to the president Teri Losey said the autograph signing should be a unique event for faculty and students alike.

“We’re so grateful to each of the presidents for taking time from their schedules to do this,” Losey said in a press release. “So many faculty and staff members and students feel a special connection to one or more of them.”
