Recreation & Wellness to host nighttime hike and stargazing for students
As part of International Dark Sky Week, Grand Valley State University’s Recreation & Wellness department is hosting a night hike on April 4.
Students are encouraged to bring blankets and headlamps with red lights to fully enjoy the stargazing portion of the hike. Additionally, students will be educated on the dangers of light pollution and the misunderstood beauty of darkness.
Hikers and stargazers will meet at GVSU’s Tower Trails trailhead behind parking Lot J at 8 p.m. and wait for sunset before starting the hike. Students must RSVP and complete a waiver form in order to participate.
GV theatre to perform final production of 2023-2024 season
Theatre at Grand Valley State University will begin their weeklong run of “The Rivals” on April 5.
The 1775 comedy of manners follows two men and their attempts to court a beautiful and wealthy heiress.
The play will run until April 14 at the Linn Maxwell Keller Black Box Theatre in the Haas Center for Performing Arts.

GV’s Latino Student Union to host winter baile
Grand Valley State University’s Latino Student Union is hosting a winter baile on April 6 from 8-11:30 p.m. in the Kirkhof Center’s Grand River Room.
Titled “El Festival de Musica: Fuego!” the event invites students to participate in a night of appreciation for Latino music, dance and culture. Students are also encouraged to wear clothes with a bright summer vibe that would typically be seen at music festivals like Chicago’s annual Sueños Music Festival.
