Wealthy Theatre to screen “Coming to America”

The Wealthy Theatre will be screening Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall’s 1988 comedy “Coming to America” on Feb. 6. The film begins at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m.

Tickets for the film are available for purchase online. Members of the Grand Rapids Community Media Center are eligible for discounted ticket prices.

MTD to continue lecture-series on community engagement 

As part of the Grand Valley State University’s Department of Music, Theatre and Dance’s Community Engagement Project (CEP), GVSU students and community members are invited to hear from Tanya Maggi, Dean of Community Engagement and Professional Studies at New England Conservatory. Maggi’s interactive lecture will discuss community engagement and communication within the context of music concerts.

The lecture will take place on Feb. 8. and will begin at 6 p.m. in Room 1515 of the Haas Center for the Performing Arts.

CAB to host Harry Styles birthday celebration

Campus Activities Board is hosting a celebration for Harry Styles’ birthday on Feb. 8 at Kirkhof Center in the Grand River Room from 7-9 p.m. Birthday cake will be provided, and students can expect a night of activities to commemorate the pop singer’s 30th birthday. 

The celebration is free to attend, but students are encouraged to RSVP on LakerLink.
